Pure pop/punk from the 1980's , Fuzzbox stylee - What's The Point by We've Got A Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It.
I used to be a huge Fuzzbox fan, back in the late 1980s/early 1990s. They were 4 girls, a little bit older than myself, and actually wrote some damn fine songs (although it is a matter of debate as to if they actually played on their 2nd album; the demo recordings are no-where near as polished as the versions that saw the light of day..)
Still, it was their attitude that attracted most people - they weren't accomplished musicians , but they didn't care about all that rot, they just went out and had fun; which is exactly what music should be all about. (Coldplay - I'm looking at you ;-))
There was a rumour about an imminent Fuzzbox reunion a little while ago, but as yet, nothing has been announced. A shame - it's about time we had some proper pop stars again.

Song of the day....
Powder - Adore Me
I came across this band completely by chance - sitting up late one night with the Kerrang video channel on, and this brilliant video came on for a song called Up Here...At first I thought it was a spoof video, mainly because in the beginning of the vid, lead singer Ninette Terhart spookily resembled comedy actress Jane Curtin.
Soon however, the dowdy night school teacher morphed into a living female cartoon superhero, with three of her students also revealing their hidden superhero identities. The video also featured an appearance by Jason Mewes (he of Jay and Silent Bob fame).
Anyways - back to the song I have chosen to share. Adore Me was supposed to get a single release here in the UK, but if it did , it was without any announcement - it should have been huge.... This song also has a great video, which showcases the full range of Ninettes's brassiere collection. I want the headlamp bra myself ;-)
Enjoy!

Trying out new software...
and it just isn't playing ball.
So, excuse the blank post below. It was going to be a picture I took of my parents kitten playing in their garden, on a bright and sunny Easter morning, but , sadly...it was not to be.
I'm not one to give up easily though.!
I'll get it right (one of these days!)

A Work in progress...
Ever Get the Feeling You've Been Wasted Your Whole Life?
There's something that I've noticed
It took me by surprise
But now it's just as blatant
As the pinpoints in your eyes
Those eyes, now barely focused
Your smile, so fixed and wide
I really thought you'd have more sense
I hoped you have some pride
Don't think it's not been noticed
There's something quite amiss
In the way you hold yourself aloft
Like a lush out on the piss
Don't take me for an idiot
I've seen this all before
We all can guess at what goes on
Behind that bathroom door
Don't think it makes you special
Or even ups your cool
To your face they smile and nod their heads
Turn your back, they say “what a fool”
Now you might not have noticed
As the rumours start to soar
What starts off as a whisper
Can become a deafening roar
So tell me, do you notice?
When you're climbing up those walls
The higher that you take yourself
The further you have to fall.
I hope in time you'll notice
From beneath that powdery haze
It's only you can find the way
To escape your self-made maze

The joys of micro-organisms...
Shops with windows...
Infections suck - ever had your body go completely numb in a matter of seconds? That's what happened to me yesterday. Absolutely terrifying, I can tell you. But , it made for a damn good warning system... So, I have an infection, stemming from my bunion operation, making me feel like shit, but hopefully nothing a week long course of antibiotics won't fix.
Wish me luck.

I've had this thing for a year already...
and this is my first Blog. That is just so typical of me and my inability to do today what I should not have put off from yesterday.
It could also be because I'm simply not that interesting. Another small voice drowned out by the bright and bawdy stars of this World Wide Web.
Well, I guess I'll write to this thing anyway, confident in the knowledge that I will be it's sole reader. If nothing else , it will give me the opportunity to see just how dull I truly am.
Time is ticking on..
